Aislin Temple
You’re not falling behind — you’re on your own timeline. Let’s honour your pace and your story.
Society often creates an invisible race where people feel pressured to match the achievements, lifestyles, and appearances of others around them. This constant comparison can make individuals feel like they are falling behind, even when they are making progress at their own pace. Over time, the weight of trying to “keep up” can lead to feelings of low self-esteem, low self-worth, isolation, anxiety, and depression. When people start to measure their worth based on someone else’s timeline, it becomes easy to lose sight of their own value and unique journey, causing deep and lasting impacts on mental health.
Our work together will begin with forming a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, empathy and mutual respect. This relationship will be the foundation of our journey together. I utilize Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) interventions tailored to your specific needs, experiences, and goals. We will conduct the sessions at your pace, as you are the author and expert of your own story.
As a therapist, I strive to establish strong, trusting relationships with my clients, creating a safe space where they can freely explore their thoughts, emotions, and challenges without fear of judgment. My goal is for you to apply what you have learned in our sessions to your everyday life, so that one day, you won’t need me anymore.
You might be a good fit if…
- You feel stuck in a cycle of overthinking, worry, or self-doubt and aren’t sure how to break free.
- You’re ready to better understand how your ADHD works, build strategies that fit your life, and replace self-criticism with confidence and self-compassion.
- You want to reconnect with your own value and unique journey, at your own pace.
What my work looks like
We begin by building a relationship rooted in trust, empathy, and respect. I draw on mindfulness, CBT, DBT, and solution-focused tools tailored to you — and we go at your pace, because you’re the author and expert of your own story.
My goal for you
That you apply what you learn in our sessions to everyday life — so that one day, you won’t need me anymore.
Outside of session
I feel most at ease sitting on the dock at my cottage, listening to the waves crash into the shore. Whenever I need to reground and reconnect, I go into nature.
I’m a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and a Yorkville University graduate with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology. I started my career volunteering as a crisis responder at the Toronto Distress Centre and the Canada Suicide Prevention Service Hotline, providing support and crisis intervention for clients in distress. I’ve also worked as an Equine-Assisted Psychotherapist — using horses as therapy animals with children, teens, and adults who have experienced trauma, anxiety, family conflict, ASD, and ADHD — where I developed valuable play-based therapy skills alongside other therapeutic modalities.
