We often feel overwhelmed by the daily battles we face — emotionally, relationally, and spiritually. Life throws impasses our way that can leave us stuck, discouraged, or unsure how to move forward. We may feel pressure to already “have it together” while struggling privately with pain, confusion, or patterns we can’t seem to break.
I use a holistic and individualized approach, integrating emotional, relational, cultural, and spiritual perspectives to meet each client in the reality of their struggle. Together, we work to understand these impasses and develop meaningful steps toward growth, clarity, and healing.
My aim is to create a warm and grounded space where clients feel supported in facing life’s battles without shame or pressure. I strive to walk alongside you with compassion and clarity so you can move forward with greater confidence, resilience, and ease.
Experience
John is completing the final stage of a Master’s degree in Counselling at Briercrest Seminary. Although he is newer to the clinical practice of psychotherapy, he is not new to supporting people through pain, transition, and growth.
With a Bachelor of Theology and as a pastor, John has years of experience walking alongside individuals and families. He has supported people through a wide range of issues, including relationship concerns, sexual addiction, anxiety, depression, church hurt, spirituality issues, and identity struggles.
John’s lived experience in a cross-cultural marriage, along with time spent in multiple cultural contexts, helps him relate meaningfully to clients from diverse backgrounds. John offers therapy in both English and Portuguese, and he is committed to compassionate, culturally sensitive, faith-aware care.
